Shameless plug again!
I know what you’re thinking. No, we didn’t talk about the video. I know what you’re thinking again. It’s because I also thought it was still too sensitive a topic. As Bill Hicks said, “you don’t dance in front of cripples.”
Luckily, there was so much more to talk about! Maricar Reyes is a joy to talk with. She’s surprisingly easy-going (I thought she was uptight). She’s pleasantly poised (I thought she wass project-ever). She’s very intelligent (I knew she was intelligent).
What is admirable about Maricar is that she made me forget about the pink elephant in the room. You know how insensitive and kapal mukha I can be with these things. One time, a colleague went up to me to have a document signed. As I went through the pages, I asked him if he was gay. The gay was nagulat. “Ay. Hindi po,” he answered meekly. Oh well, I thought. It was worth the try.
In any case. So yeah. I didn’t even have to stop myself. She’s a good girl, Maricar. I hope she succeeds in this business. I also that when she’s ready to talk about it, she requests to give me the exclusive. Wow, wishful thinking. A girl can dream now, can’t she?
So for that to happen, please get yourselves a copy of Women’s Health Philippines November 2009 issue. I wrote the cover.
