Thom does Joy Div
A quick note, as this is my niece and nephew’s last today. Thom, with Atoms for Peace, does a cover of Joy Division. Awesome.
Amsterdam

(photos from loftlifemag)
This article about Amsterdam from loftlife magazine is very inviting. Been wanting to go since forever but I haven’t had a chance.
If Cambodia happened five years after the desire and the Japan experience did, too, then for sure Amsterdam will happen. Am not one to force things because as life has demonstrated, things happen when they are supposed to, and how.
So, in the mean time, a love letter. I will meet you someday soon, Amsterdam (and Sweden and Iceland and Norway…)
Patti Smith

I have neither the discipline nor the desire to turn into someone else. —Patti Smith
Admittedly, I need to get to know Patti Smith better. It’s pathetic that I claim to be a music fan with Patti Smith remaining a mystery to me. I resolve to learn more.
This NYTimes reportage , though it’s in fashion and not music, gives an ignoramus such as myself a peek into Patti.

Home of a Flaming Lip
Over at pitchfork today, they showed the quirky home of Flaming Lip Wayne Coyne. It’s rather cute, in an out of this world kind of way. Hehe
Looking at the gallery, I begin the think: no wonder his music is like that, thinking that maybe his surroundings influence his way of thinking. But a few photos later, I take it back: nah, he must think like that all the time. The guy is a quirky genius! Check out some photos:

kaboom! spaceh!

Cute, no? Ah musicians, they are a very interesting lot, aren’t they? Dunno if I can maintain this space but I suppose it can be very interesting living here.
