Happy Thoughts

(photos from youaremyfave)

Sorry for the lethargic posts. My dad’s been in the hospital since Saturday, and the four girls (mom and three daughters) have been playing nurse. It’s been very draining, to say the least. I can feel a fever marinating in my body. I am hoping it doesn’t push through because dad needs as much care as possible, the other girls have become emo, and by next week, I’ll need to be back in the office.

Thankfully, I found these photos from youaremyfave. Smores never fails. And right now, a nice bed in a cool room and a j would be fantastic. Because Manila just hit the 37.5 degree mark and the AC, while it is highly highly appreciated, can be cruelly cold. I swear, there isn’t like natural cool.

Hoping you’re having a better week. (:

Sea, Sand, Sun

Posted in Uncategorized by lounatik on May 6, 2010

Hello! Sorry for the lethargic posts. Came from a long weekend, which I spent at a friend’s beach house. As long weekends go, the office was incredibly busy come Tuesday. The coming weekend is another long one because National Elections is on Monday. God Help the Philippines.

Anyway, I apologise for an indulgent entry. It’s just that, I  love my new bikini!

It’s from Topshop, which I had come back for, three times. It was too expensive so I kept on telling myself ‘when you come back and it’s still here, it’s for you.’

It was still there on my second trip so, I made it mine. No regrets because I love it! While it might not see more of the summer sun—I burnt myself to crisp and am now shadow-dark—I sure hope it sees more airtime soon.

That’s me having a laugh on the yacht. The yacht! Sometimes, I can’t believe the things I get myself into. A yacht?!

So. Enough about me. How are you?

Dinner on a Friday Evening

Posted in personal by lounatik on April 18, 2010

Went on leave Friday last to spend time with family. We had lunch at 22 Prime, a restaurant at Discovery Suites. And then for dinner, we went to Antonio’s, this fine dining restaurant in Tagaytay, a city a few hours drive away from Manila. The food was incredible. I mean, check out that beautiful bone marrow:

I only knew bone marrow as the so-called cherry on top of a Filipino dish Bulalo. A pig stew, dad would hold the bone marrow on one hand, hammer it as strong as he can on his other so that the bone marrow fat would slip gently off. As you can see, Antonio’s has the fat beautifully laid out, all for the taking.

Walk About

Posted in Uncategorized by lounatik on April 4, 2010

When I can, and usually on Saturdays, I go to the University of the Philippines to be with myself. I go to this second-hand bookstore, where I never leave without a purchase. I go to this cafe, where I always order an eggplant parmigiana. It’s not the best that I’ve tasted but it’s familiar and it’s comforting so it’s become a favorite.

I dunno. These sporadic trips always clears my head. It’s so quiet in UP. And people never mind what the hell you’re doing. Well, okay, sometimes, they do, too but they’re always off elsewhere so that’s okay. I like how you can just walk around or sit around and nobody would think you were different, weird, or intoxicated. (more…)

King Jens

Posted in music by lounatik on April 2, 2010

Hello there! Sorry I’ve been MIA for a few days. Holy week had us working like mad, which in turn made personal life achingly slow. In any case, March ended on a very very high note.

I saw Kings of Convenience and Jens Lekman live! Yay!
